How to submit & pay fees

A practical guide for authors submitting to NLA Jigawa State Chapter Journal.

Step-by-step submission and when the Article Processing Charge (APC) is due.

How to submit a manuscript and pay fees

This guide is for authors using Nigerian Library Association Journals. Fee information below follows the journal’s current APC setting (set by the editorial office).

Before you start
  1. Create an account — Register as an author (not as a reviewer; reviewers are invited by the editorial office).
  2. Prepare your files — Manuscript, title page, figures, and any supplementary files per the journal’s author guidelines on the About page.
  3. Check fees — This journal charges an Article Processing Charge (APC) after acceptance:
  • APC: 0.00 NGN

There is no Article Review / process fee at submission.

Submitting (5 steps)

Go to New Submission on your dashboard or start a submission.

  1. Article type — Choose article type, section, and call for papers (if any).
  2. Manuscript details — Title, abstract (150–250 words), keywords.
  3. Authors — Names, affiliations, ORCID, corresponding author.
  4. Files — Upload manuscript and supplementary files.
  5. Declarations & fees — Ethics, conflicts, copyright; review any fee notice on the final step.

After you click Submit, you receive a confirmation email and a submission ID. Track progress on My submissions.

When the APC is due

Due when: Your manuscript has an acceptance or revision decision and the journal’s APC is enabled (and not waived for you).

What to do:

  1. Open the submission on your dashboard.
  2. If status shows Due now for the APC, click Pay or Request waiver (if allowed).
  3. Pay online or follow bank-transfer instructions and upload proof if required.

Why it matters: The editorial office may not start copyediting / production until the APC is paid or waived.

If you see a message that APC is waived for you, you do not need to pay.

Payment methods

When APC is enabled (status: enabled):

  • Online payment (when enabled by the journal)
  • Bank transfer with receipt upload
  • Editorial policy waiver (automatic — no action needed)
  • Author waiver request (reviewed by the editorial office)

When APC is disabled, payment options do not apply.

After payment (when APC applies)

Status updates to paid (or waived). You can continue with revisions and production as directed by the editors.
