Our standard
Nigerian Library Association Journals follows the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All participants in scholarly publishing — authors, reviewers and editors — are expected to uphold them.
Duties of authors
- Submit original work that is not under consideration elsewhere; disclose related publications and preprints.
- Ensure all listed authors made substantive contributions and approve the submission; acknowledge other contributors.
- Report methods honestly, retain underlying data, and disclose funding, competing interests and ethical approvals.
- Correct significant errors promptly by contacting the editors.
Duties of reviewers
- Review objectively, constructively and on time; keep manuscripts confidential.
- Declare competing interests and decline where objectivity is compromised.
- Report suspected plagiarism, duplicate publication or data fabrication to the editor in confidence.
Duties of editors
- Decide solely on scholarly merit through fair, unbiased peer review.
- Keep author and reviewer identities protected according to the review model and handle appeals transparently.
- Investigate suspected misconduct following COPE flowcharts, up to correction, expression of concern or retraction.
Raising a concern
Readers who suspect a problem with a published article should use the report a concern form. Reports are triaged confidentially by the editorial team.
